We understand the importance of achieving sustainable development and balancing the needs of our business, and our stakeholders through the new Colas global Corporate Social Responsibly (CSR) strategy, ACT, which was launched in 2021 and focusses on 8 commitments to support our efforts and our goal to leave a lasting legacy. Our mission is to utilise our global expertise and global strength to differentiate and deliver sustainable solutions to our customers and the communities we work in.

People
We are driven by our duty of care to our employees, customers, and the public. Our vision is to deliver sustainable growth through intelligent infrastructure solutions, excellent service, and inspired people. The communities we work in are the end customer of our services and we aim to support them throughout our works. We integrate sustainability as much as possible in our projects by supporting local businesses, sourcing local materials, and offering work placement opportunities and apprenticeships.
Safety
We aim to be an industry leader in terms of occupational health and safety, and we pride ourselves on our established Health and Safety culture, providing safe and healthy working conditions to prevent work related injuries and illness to our personnel and others who come into contact with our operations. Our approach to the health, safety and wellbeing to our employees, contractors and other third parties is reflected through our values.
Environment
We are committed to achieving the highest standards of environmental sustainability and becoming Carbon Net Zero by 2040. We prioritise sustainability on our projects, minimising the environmental impact on our operations and adapting the way we work, recycling and reusing products where possible, developing sustainable solutions to protect our future, and collaborating with our clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to uphold our ethics and culture throughout the supply chain.
Our Strategic Implementation Programme (SIP) was introduced in 2022 as part of the Colas ACT strategy, focusing on our goal to become Carbon Net Zero by 2040 and making positive contributions to the communities we work in. We have taking action to reduce our carbon emissions by implementing 8 Commitments, lowering our environmental footprint and continuing collaboration with clients and supply chain partners to develop sustainable, innovative solutions.
